Student Profiles need to be submitted by either e-mail or completed online by 5:00 p.m. CDT, Friday, March 16th:
Student Profile - If you have not already submitted the Student Profile which was e-mailed to you when you registered, please do so immediately. Students will receive a copy of each student’s profile in the form of a “yearbook” upon arrival at the School. These compiled profiles should enable students to seek out others in the class regarding specific questions and issues. If this form is not received by Friday, March 16th only your name and bank information will be printed in the yearbook; please take a couple of minutes to e-mail or fax it in before the deadline.
The following materials need to be submitted by either email or completed online by5:00 p.m. CDT, Friday, March 23rd:
Goal Setting Form - Research has shown that individuals with defined goals have a better School experience. Working with your nominating officer or supervisor, please complete the Goal Setting Form online. You are being asked to develop three learning (academic) goals for the School and two professional (social/networking) goals for the School. The academic goals will be provided (anonymously) to the School of Banking Fundamentals faculty so they may focus their teaching.
Peer Discussions - Two peer discussions will be held during the week: an Operations Peer Discussion on Monday, April 9th and a Lending Peer Discussion on Wednesday, April 11th. These sessions provide you an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues with your peers and instructors. You must attend one of the Peer Discussions with attendance at the other session being optional. Please complete the online Survey Monkey form by clicking here.
Banking and the Financial Services Industry - Read the material in Exhibit A and complete Exhibit B online by Friday, March 23rd. Your responses will be forwarded to the instructor of this session.
The following assignments need to be completed before the School and brought with you to use in class:
Accounting - Complete Exhibit C.
Understanding Your Bank Through the Call Report - Bring a completed copy of your bank’s 12-31-2017 Call Report as filed with the regulators. (Exhibit D is a copy of the cover of the Call Report). Your bank’s cashier can help you locate your bank’s report or you may also print a copy at www.fdic.gov. Please bring the entire report with you to the School. Federal Home Loan Bank employees or consultants should bring a member bank’s call report.
Investments and Asset/Liability Management - Complete Exhibit E and review Exhibit F.
Lending: Complete Exhibit G.
